Nurlan Bekmukhambetov,

tenor. Nurlan Bekmukhambetov is a soloist of the Novaya Opera Theatre. He was born in Uralsk (Kazakhstan). He graduated with honours from the Sobinov State Conservatory of Samara in 1997 and completed his post graduate studies at the Tchaikovsky Moscow Conservatory in 2005 (under Irina Arkhipova). Between 1996 and 2000, Nurlan was a soloist of the Saratov Opera and Ballet Theatre. In 2001, he made his debut, appearing in Boris Godunov at the Bolshoi Theatre. Then he worked for two years at the Mussa Dzhalil National Opera House in Kazan.

Since 2004, he has been a soloist of the Kolobov Novaya Opera Theatre.

Nurlan Bekmukhambetov has in his repertoire the following parts: Lensky in Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin, Vladimir Igorevich in Borodin’s Prince Igor, Sinodal in Rubinstein’s The Demon, Alfredo in Verdi’s La Traviata, Count Almaviva in Rossini’s Il barbiere di Siviglia and many others.

Nurlan Bekmukhambetov was a finalist of competitions in Estonia, Croatia, Spain, and Austria. He has taken part in many international and Russian festivals.

  • Prize winner (3rd prize and a special award for the artistry and stage magnetism) of the 1st Tulegenov International Vocal Contest (2001, Chelyabinsk)
  • Prize-winner of the 19th Glinka International Vocal Competition (4th prize, 2001, Chelyabinsk)
