Elvira Khokhlova,

soprano, graduated from the Gnessins Academy of Music in 1996 (Associate Professor Oleinichenko’s class).

In 1994, when a third-year student the singer made her debut at the Novaya Opera as Lucrezia in Verdi's I due Foscari. Elvira has also taken part in the theatre’s concerts, performing arias from the classical opera repertoire, romances by Russian and foreign composers. In 1999, Elvira Khokhlova took part in the Novaya Opera’s recording of Mozart’s Requiem. Figuring prominently in the singer’s repertoire are cantatas and oratorios.
Elvira collaborates with the Russian Philharmonic Orchestra, Polyansky’s State Academic Symphony Choir of Russia, and Yuri Bashmet’s Novaya Rossia State Symphony Orchestra.

The singer tours extensively in Russia and other countries. Among her Russian projects are Mussorgsky’s The Fair at Sorochyntsi (Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatoire, 2002), Rimsky-Korsakov’s Christmas Eve (Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatoire, 2007), Strauss’ Die Fledermaus (the Moscow International House of Music, 2008), Rossini’s Stabat Mater (Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatoire, 2007, conductor Pablo Colino, conductor Maksim Feotov, 2008, conductor Yuri Bashmet).

She participated in many opera productions abroad, such as Iolanta (the Monte Carlo Theatre, 2001 and Tokyo, 2005), Norma, Pagliacci, Lucia di Lammermoor (Germany, Ulm and Düsseldorf, 2003–2006), Rigoletto (the 2nd Opera Festival in La Palma, Spain, 2005), and others.
