On 5 August 2014, People’s Artist of Russia Vladimir Rubin will turn 90. In his works the word and music are inseparable, his main genres being cantatas, oratorios, and choral and song cycles. Vladimir Rubin is considered to be the originator of the “poetic theatre” in music. The concert in the Mirror Foyer will comprise excerpts from the composer’s operas (Three Fat Men, Alice’s Album, Kashtanka, and The Winged Horseman) and song cycles.
