| Georgy Vasiliev, tenor. Georgy Vasiliev graduated from the Popov Academy of Choral Art and in 2002 completed his post-graduate studies at the Academy (Prof. Vdovin’s class). The singer joined the Novaya Opera in 2009, where he made his debut in the role of Ismaelein Verdi’s Nabucco. Since 2015 he has been a soloist of the Deutsche Oper am Rhein (Düsseldorf). He has been a guest soloist in productions of Russian and foreign theatres such as the Bolshoi Theatre of Russian, the Ekaterinburg State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre, Staatsoper (Berlin, Germany), the Sydney Opera House (Australia), Grand Théâtre de Genève (Switzerland), Opéra de Lille (France), Palm Beach Opera (USA) to name a few. Georgy Vasiliev has sung at the festival Chereshnevy Les, Vladimir Spivakov invites, at the international musical festivals in Colmar, Annecy (France) and in Vladimir Spivakov’s other projects (together with the National Philharmonic of Russia and the State Chamber Orchestra Moscow Virtuosi), and also at festivals and concerts of the Russian National Orchestra (led by Mikhail Pletnev). In 2016 he participated in the concert Classics in Palace Square in St. Petersburg together with Anna Netrebko, Ildar Abdrazakov, Olga Peretyatko and others. His repertoire comprises leading tenor parts such as Romeo (Roméo et Juliette), Faust (Faust, both by Gounod), Alfredo (La Traviata), Duke of Mantua (Rigoletto, both by Verdi), Nemorino (L’elisir d’amore), Edgardo (Lucia di Lammermur, both by Donizetti), Pinkerton (Madama Butterfly), Rodolfo (La bohème, both by Puccini) Lensky (Eugene Onegin), Count Vaudémont (Iolanta, both by Tchaikovsky) and some others, as well as the tenor parts in cantatas and oratorios, such as Rachmaninoff’s The Bells, Verdi’s Requiem, Bruckner’s Te Deum, Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, Janáček’s Věčné evangelium, etc. Roles performed at the Novaya OperaOronte in Verdi's I Lombardi alla prima crociata St. Matthew in Respighi's Christus Mikhail Tucha in Rimsky-Korsakov's The Maid of Pskov (in concert) |
