| Dmitry Volosnikov, Conductor. He graduated from the Urals State Conservatory with a degree in choral conducting in 1993 and studied symphony conducting with Maestro Kolobov at the post-graduate department of the conservatory. He worked as a conductor at the Yekaterinburg Theatre of Opera and Ballet and at the Yekaterinburg Modern Music and Theatre Centre, where he directed and conducted Rossini’s La Cenerentola and Massenet’s Thais.Dmitry Volosnikov joined the Novaya Opera in 1998. He is the music director and conductor of Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas, Puccini's Gianni Schicchi, Thomas’ Hamlet, Rossini's La Cenerentola, Mussorgsky’s Boris Godunov and Khovanshchina (in concert), Orff’s Carmina Burana, the “Bravissimo!” opera mix, the “Maria Callas” musical offering, Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker (joint production with the Imperial Russian Ballet); he also conducts Verdi’s La Traviata, Bellini’s Norma, Tchaikovsky’s and Rachmaninov’s Romances, Donizetti’s L’elisir d’amore and Prokofiev's cantatas Ivan the Terrible and Alexander Nevsky. He conducted a concert version of Agafonnikov’s Sergey Yesenin. He prepared the Inverted Perspective Russian choral music concert and the Rostov Suite programme based on texts by Dmitry Rostovsky.He also participated in the recording of the CDs “Chorus of the Novaya Opera Theatre of Moscow” and “Soloists of the Novaya Opera Theatre of Moscow”. In 1999–2010 Dmitry Volosnikov was the music director of the Evgeny Kolobov Choral and Bell Music Festival “Transfiguration” in Yaroslavl. Since 2013 he has been the principle guest conductor at the Krasnoyarsk State Theatre of Opera and Ballet.
