The concert is titled after one of the most famous compositions – Golden-Domed Moscow, which captures glimpses of Moscow life and warm memories of the city. The programme comprises some of the best musical declarations of love for the capital. The Novaya Opera’s soloists, guest artistes and instrumental band will perform hits by Isaak Dunayevsky, Alexandra Pakhmutova, Tikhon Khrennikov, Arno Babajanian, Andrey Petrov and many other composers. Each song in the programme is associated with favourite films (Walking the Streets of Moscow), iconic singers (The Best City in the World – Muslim Magomayev), and momentous events: for example, My Dear Muscovites was written to the 800th anniversary of the capital, and Goodbye Moscow was not merely the farewell song the 1980 Summer Olympics but a specific Olympic symbol. The artistic director of the festival is the Novaya Opera’s director Dmitry Sibirtsev, a pianist and a winner of the Moscow City Literature and Arts Prize.
