Yulia Mennibaeva,

mezzo-soprano, studied at the Tchaikovsky State Conservatory of Moscow in 2005 to 2010 (Prof. Galina Pisarenko’s class). She performed Laura in Tchaikovsky’s Iolanta, Orfeo in Gluck’s Orfeo ed Euridice in the opera studio under the Moscow State Conservatory. In 2012, she graduated from the Popov Academy of Choral Art (Prof. Dmitry Vdovin’s class). In 2015, she completed her assistantship in the Academy.

In 2007 to 2009, the singer attended the Moscow International Vocal School where she studied with Giandomenico Bisi and Gloria Guido (Italy), George Darden, Diane Zola and Richard Bado (the USA). She also participated in the masterclasses of Semyon Skigin, Maria Guleghina, Carol Vaness, Irina Bogacheva, Brigitte Fassbaender, Krassimira Stoyanova to name a few.

The singer joined the Novaya Opera in 2010. She made her first appearance at the Bolshoi Theatre in Banevich's The Story of Kai and Gerda (the vocal part of Little Robber Girl) in 2014.

In the 2016/17 season she was a soloist of the International Opera Studio in Zurich Opera, where she performed Lola in Mascagni’s Cavalleria rusticana (Roberto Alagna as Turiddu, conductor Daniele Rustioni), Emilia in Verdi’s Otello (conductor Marco Armiliato), Dragonfly and China Cup in Ravel’s L'enfant et les sortileges (conductor Pavel Baleff).

In September 2017, she underwent a training course in l’Academie de l’Opera de Monte-Carlo, where she prepared the part of Carmen in Bizet’s homonymous opera. In December 2017, she performed Amelfa in Rimsky-Korsakov’s The Golden Cockerel, conducted by Vasily Petrenko, in Concertgebouw (Amsterdam).

In January 2018, she performed Geneviève in Debussy’s Pelléas et Mélisande, conducted by Yves Abel, in Ópera de Oviedo (Spain). In March 2018, she sang the part of Bersi in Giordano’s Andrea Chénier conducted by Pinchas Steinberg (Jonas Kaufmann as Andrea Chénier, Sondra Radvanovsky as Maddalena).

She took part in the top musical festivals such as Preobrazhenie in Yaroslavl (the part of Page in Rimsky-Korsakov’s The Legend of the Invisible City of Kitezh and the Maiden Fevroniya) in 2010; Rachmaninoff’s All-Night Vigil in 2014, / Eurochestries/ (France, 2012), the Tchaikovsky Music Festival in Klin, conducted by Vladimir Fedoseyev (2012), Future Moscow (Moscow, 2013, she participated in Pospelov’s opera in concert The Pirate’s Grandson), the 23rd Sviatoslav Richter December Soirees (2013), the 7th Festival of World Symphony Orchestras (Moscow, 2012, the mezzo-soprano part in Glazunov’s Coronation Cantata under the baton of Yuri Simonov), The Kremlin Soirees festival (Ryazan, 2014), the Yuri Bashmet Music Festival (Yaroslavl, 2015, the alto part in Mozart’s Requiem). With the Bolshoi Theatre Company she participated in the Pierre Cardin Music Festival in Lacoste (France) as Marta in Tchaikovsky’s Iolanta (2014).

The repertoire of the singer includes the parts of Page in Rimsky-Korsakov’s The Legend of the Invisible City of Kitezh and the Maiden Fevroniya, Maddalena in Verdi’s Rigoletto, Orfeo in Gluck’s Orfeo ed Euridice, Olga in Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin, Lyubasha in Rimsky-Korsakov’s The Tsar's Bride, Marfa in Mussorgsky Khovanshchina and Adalgisa in Bellini’s Norma. Also, she performed an alto part in Mozart's Requiem (Moscow Conservatory's Grand Hall, 2014) mezzo-soprano part in Rossini’s Petite messe solennelle (the Yaroslavl Philharmonic Society, 2014), contralto part Vivaldi in Gloria (Moscow Philharmonic Society, Conservatory's Grand Hall, 2014) and mezzo-soprano part in Jenkins’ The Armed Man. She took part in Shostakovich’s Spanish Songs and From Jewish Folk Poetry and participated in the concerts All Romances by Tchaikovsky. Part 4 in the Bolshoi Theatre (2015), Sergei Prokofiev (2016) in the Beethoven Hall of the Bolshoi Theatre.

She gave concerts in the Teatro Real (Madrid) and Opera de Monte-Carlo (Monaco). She regularly works with the Elena Obraztsova Charity Foundation, the Intrada vocal ensemble and the men’s chamber choir Blagozvonnitsa. She has worked with many outstanding conductors such as Yuri Simonov, Vladimir Minin, Fabio Mastrangelo, Vladimir Fedoseyev, Murad Annamamedov to name a few.
