Sergey Lysenko (10.12.1960–10.05.2018),

Conductor, choirmaster, general director in 2003–2012, is an Honoured Artist of Russia, a RF State Prize winner. Graduate of the Moscow State Conservatory, Sergey Lysenko worked as a choirmaster at the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Academic Musical Theatre.

Sergey Lysenko has been working with Evgeny Kolobov and Natalya Popovich since the theatre’s foundation in 1991. In 1998, Sergey lysenko became the executive director and in 2003–2012 he was the general director of the theatre.

He combined his administrative and artistic work, and acted not only as a choirmaster, but also as an operatic and symphonic conductor and the music director of a number of the theatre’s productions, including Glinka’s Ruslan and Lyudmila, Donizetti’s Maria Stuarda, O Mozart! Mozart… (based on Rimsky-Korsakov’s Mozart and Salieri, and Mozart’s Requiem) and Verdi’s Requiem.

Sergey Lysenko participated in 15 CD recordings of the Novaya Opera Theatre.
