| Mikhail Gubsky, tenor. He graduated from the Samara State Academy of Art and Culture in 1997 (Galina Sorokina’s class).Mikhail Gubsky has in his repertoire the following parts: Lensky in Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin, Golitsyn in Mussorgsky’s Khovanshchina, the Simpleton in Mussorgsky’s Boris Godunov, Tsar Berendey in Rimsky-Korsakov’s The Snow Maiden, Macduff in Verdi’s Macbeth, Faust in Gounod’s Faust, Rodolfo in Puccini’s La bohème and many others. Mikhail Gubsky tours extensively with different opera companies (such as the Novaya Opera, the Bolshoi Theatre etc). He has taken part in numerous concert programmes, including a concert in honour of Irina Arkhipova and joint performances with the singer in the Grand Hall of the Moscow Conservatory. Jointly with the National Orchestra of Russia (conductor Kent Nagano) he took part in the performance of Bach’s Mass in B minor in the Moscow International Music House in 2003. He performed the part of the Hussar in Stravinsky’s Mavra at a festival in Netherlands in 2004. Since 1997, Mikhail Gubsky has worked with the Kolobov Novaya Opera Theatre.
