| Khachatur Badalyan, tenor. Khachatur Badalyan graduated with on ours from the Don State University in 204 and then studied at the Rachmaninov State Conservatory of Rostov (Associate Professor Petrova’s class). He worked in the Rostov Regional Philharmonic. Khachatur is a permanent participant in the Parade of Tenors under the guidance of Vladislav Piavko and in Irina Arkhipova Foundation projects. He studied with prominent voice teachers such as Piavko, Kostina, Zabiyako, Sarkisyan, Paul, Zandonai, Luchetti and Ziguele. He has worked numerous orchestras, including the Rostov Orchestra of Folk Instruments, the Yaroslavl Governor’s Academic Symphony Orchestra, the Four Seasons Moscow Chamber Orchestra, the Luigi Cherubini Orchestra under the baton of Marco Boemi, Italy, and orchestras of Romania’s opera houses. He has worked with renowned conductors such as Pletnyov, Allemandi, Wilson, Currentzis, Klas, Callegari, Jordan, to name a few. Khachatur Badalyan extensively tours in Russia and Europe (Romania, Spain and Italy). Between 2007 and 2012, he was a soloist at the Kolobov Novaya Opera Theatre of Moscow.In September 2008, he became a guest soloist at the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia, where he sang Vaudemont in Tchaikovsky’s Iolanta and Rudolf in Puccini’s La Boheme. In 2008, he joined the Novosibirsk State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre as a guest soloist. In 2012, he became a soloist at the Mariinsky Theatre where he made his debut signing the part of Hoffmann in Offenbach’s The Tales of Hoffmann. In 2011 to 2013, Khachatur appeared as Rudolf (La Boheme) in the Bellini Opera House and La Fenice theatre (Italy), as Alfred (Verdi’s La Traviata) in the Grand Theatre in Warsaw (Poland) and the German State Opera, as Prince (Dvorak’s Rusalka) in Opera de Montreal (Canada), Pinkerton (Puccini’s Madama Butterfly) in the Cagliari Opera House and the Teatro Carlo Felice (Italy),Jose (Bizet’s Carmen) in the Opera Bastille (France), Foresto (Verdi’s Attila) in Arena di Verona (Italy), and the tenor part in Verdi’s Requiem in the Mariinsky Theatre. In the 2015/2016 season he performed as Prince in Rusalka in the Minnesota Opera (USA), Turiddu in Mascagni’s Cavalleria rusticana in the Municipal Theatre of Santiago (Chile), and as Ismail in Verdi’s Nabucco in Ópera de Las Palmas Alfredo Kraus (Spain). In 2016, Khachatur returned to the Novaya Opera Theatre. Awards and Honours- Prize-winner at the 1st Marcello Giordani International Vocal Competition (2nd prize, Italy, 2011)
