“The great battle is over”, but we keep celebrating the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945. Those who lived through the horrors of the war are almost gone, and the new generations are fortunate not to know what a war is. But the memories of those years will forever remain in songs.

On Victory Day’s eve the leading soloists of the Kolobov Novaya Opera Theatre perform the most popular wartime songs, touching, cheerful and heartfelt, which inspired Russian soldiers to live on and hope to win: The Roads (Dorogi), Soldiers are Coming (Vot soldaty idut), Dark Night (Temnaya Noch), Wait for Me (Zhdi menya i ya vernus), Nightingales (Solovi), Where are you, my war brothers? (Gde zhe vy teper druzya-odnopolchane?), In a Sunny Forest Clearing (Na solnechnoy polyanochke), I was coming from Berlin (Ekhal ya iz Berlina), Random Waltz, The Sacred War, Katyusha, In a Dugout, Victory Day and many others.
