The Novaya Opera presents a concert of orchestral performers, called
A Company Party. The creator of this concert is
Vladimir Zisman, a member of the NO Orchestra and the author of the popular humorous book
A Guide to the Orchestra and its Backyard. The book launch took place in January of 2015 in the Mirror Foyer and was followed by a concert which was a big success. In this season the author has prepared a new, fascinating programme comprising pieces from different musical epochs, styles and schools.
Says Vladimir Zisman: ”The concept is simple. A company party as a genre is a nutritional medium for musicians, a means of earning money. There are lots of different niches where it happens: weddings, exhibitions, projects, clubs…
The main idea of this evening is to play as much music as possible in the “company party” style – from Mozart to the /Jalousie tango.
Playing such popular pieces brings great pleasure to musicians and gives good vibes to listeners.“/
The programme of the concert comprises classical hits such as Mozart’s Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, Bach’s Minuet and Badinerie, Boccherini’s Minuet, Mendelssohn’s The Wedding March to name a few. Also the musicians will perform ingenious versions of popular 20th-century compositions: Mancini’s You Love Me from Victor/Victoria film, Bowman’s 12th Street Rag, Leeuwen’s Venus from the Shocking Blue group’s repertory, Gade’s Jalousie.
