Alexey Tregubov,

Guest Designer. He graduated from the Surikov Moscow State Academic Institute of Arts (Painting Department, Monumental Art Workshop, 2009). He took part in creating the Russia Pavilion at the Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space (2007). He was a member of the curatorial group of exhibitions in the Moscow Museum of Modern Art (If I knew it, Night at the Museum, 2010). He was the author of the personal exhibitions in Galerie Polysémie (Marseille, 2010), Korjaamo Galleria (Helsinki, 2010) and the Moscow Museum of Modern Art (Who is it?; Moscow, 2012). He developed the concept of foyer decoration for the 90th anniversary of the Vladimir Mayakovsky Moscow Academic Theatre, the space of the Sretenka Stage (2012), the artistic design of the exposition The Same in the Manege dedicated to the 50th anniversary of Nikita Khrushchev’s chiding of the Manege Exhibition (2012), the Directors installation for decorating the foyer in the Gogol Centre (2013). He was the architect of The Circus Play (Moscow Museum of Modern Art, 2014). He founded and supervised The Room artistic gallery in The Contemporary Play School (2011) and The New Wing exhibition space in the Gogol’s House memorial museum in Moscow (2014–2016).

As a scenic designer he has taken part in productions of a number of theatres in Russia and Europe. His works include Joseph Raihelgauz’s In His Own Words (2006), A Man Came To a Woman, New Edition based on Semyon Zlotnikov’s play (2008), Yevgeni Grishkovetz’s The House and Weekend (2009 and 2014), Sergei Nikitin and Vadim Zhuk’s The Russian Woe based on Alexander Griboyedov’s Wit Works Woe (2010), A Bear based on Dmitri Bykov’s play (2011), A Little Mouse the Superdetective based on Elena Kollegova’s play (2017, all in The Contemporary Play School), Ivan Vyrypayev’s The Drunks (the Chekhov Moscow Art Тheatre, 2014; Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus, 2014; the Budapest National Theatre, 2016); Victor Ryzhakov’s The Lower Depths based on Maxim Gorky’s play (the Budapest National Theatre, 2014), Sasha Denisova’s Decalogue at Sretenka (Mayakovsky Theatre, 2014); Yuri Kvyatkovsky's and Valery Pecheykin’s Highland (Pskov Drama Theatre, 2015), Victor Ryzhakov’s Tolstoy’s War and Peace (Tovstonogov Bolshoi Drama Theater, 2015), Attila Vidnyánszky’s Crime and Punishment based on Dostoevsky’s novel (2016), Asya Voloshina’s Optimistic Tragedy. The Farewell Ball based on Vsevolod Vishnevsky’s play (2017, both in the Alexandrinsky Theatre), Gioachino Rossini’s Il barbiere di Siviglia (Komische Oper Berlin, 2016), Alexander Manotskov’s Chaadsky (Helikon-Opera, 2017).
