| Alexey Bogdanchikov, baritone, graduated from the Gnessins College of Music in 2007 (Stulov’s class). In 2008, he entered the Tchaikovsky State Conservatory of Moscow (Prof. Loshak’s class). In 2008–2010, he underwent advanced training at the Galina Vishnevskaya Opera Centre, where he performed the title role in Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin and Robert in Tchaikovsky’s Iolanta. The singer took part in the Centre’s tours in Russia, Germany and Poland. In 2010–2013, he performed at the Deutsche Oper in Berlin appearing as Maximilian and the Captain in Bernstein’s Candide, Ping in Puccini’s Turandot, Peer Gynt in Grieg’s Peer Gynt, Moralès in Bizet’s Carmen, Silvano in Verdi’s Un ballo in maschera, and Flemish Deputy in Verdi’s Don Carlo. He sang Barret in Tutino’s The Servant at the National Theatre of Szeged in Hungary and in Plzen in the Czech Republic in 2010, at the Rossini Theatre in Italy in 2011. Aleksey has appeared at prestigious venues in Germany and Italy including Teatro Comunale di Bologna (Wolfram in Wagner’s Tanhäuser; the baritone part in Brahms’ A German Requiem), Teatro Massimo (Gyges in Zemlinsky’s Der König Kandaules), the Staatsoper Hannover (Onegin in Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin). In 2012 Aleksey performed as Yeletsky in Tchaikovsky’s The Queen of Spades at the Buryatia Opera and Ballet Theatre in Ulan-Ude. He gave recitals with the Heilbronn Symphony Orchestra in Germany in 2013. In June 2013, Aleksey Bogdanchikov represented Russia at the BBC Cardiff Singer of the World competition. In October 2013, he was chosen an honorary member of the Gottlob Frik Society in Heilbronn, Germany. In 2014 he joined the Novaya Opera Theatre. Since 2015, he has been soloist of the Staatsoper Hamburg (Germany), where he has performed the parts of Rodrigue (French version of Verdi's Don Carlos, Onegin (Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin), Yeletsky (Tchaikovsky's The Queen of Spades), Count Almaviva (The Marriage of Figaro), Enrico (Donizetti's Lucia di Lammermoor), Figaro (Rosini's Il barbiere di Siviglia), Valentin (Gounod's Faust), Sharpless (Puccini's Madama Butterfly), Frank and Fritz (Korngold's /Die tote Stadt). Alexey Bogdanchikov worked with such outstanding conductors as Kent Nagano, Daniel Oren, Renato Palumbo, Jesús López Cobos, Pier Giorgio Morandi, Stefano Ranzani, Donald Runnicles, Emmanuel Villaume, Jader Bignamini and Johannes Fritzsch. In 2017, he performed the role og Giorgio Germont in Verdi's /La Traviata under the baton of Jan Latham-Koenig at the 63th Festival Puccini in Torre del Lago (Italy).
