| | | | FLUTE JUMBLEConcert of orchestral performers and opera soloists Running time: 1 hour 30 minutes with one intermission Recommended for 6+ | Dictionaries define the word “jumble” as a mix of different sweets. However, we habitually associate this word with a mass of things mingled together without order or plan. The “Flute Jumble” concert is a series of chamber ensembles with one or several flutes and other instruments. Our orchestra members perform solo! The flute repertoire is hardly as abundant and varied as that for the piano or for the violin. Nevertheless, many outstanding composers – Johann Sebastian Bach, Georg Friedrich Händel, Christoph von Gluck, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Joseph Haydn, Franz Schubert, Gioachino Rossini, Gabriel Fauré, Antonín Dvořák – wrote pieces for the flute. There have also been other composers of flute music, but we know practically nothing about them. The programme of the concert comprises compositions of both famous and little-known composers. Each performance has its own program and atmosphere.
