Rimsky-Korsakov implemented one of Pushkin’s wisest tales in music, which became the Russian composer’s generally recognised masterpiece.
Created in 1909, the opera was a great success in Russia and 5 years later won international fame in Paris during the Diaghilev seasons.
Remarkably, the Natalia Sats Moscow State Music Theatre for Children presented its production of The Golden Cockerel/in Paris again right afterits Moscow premiere. The performances shown on the stage of the renowned Théâtre des Champs-Élysées were dedicated to the centenary of the theatre. However, the first spectators of the new production were young Muscovites. The charming fairytale /The Golden Cockerel created by Pushkin and Rimsky-Korsakov and performed by the Natalia Sats opera and ballet company and a symphony orchestra is an invariable success with the public.
