Novaya Opera greets its new Chief Conductor (15.04.2011).

On April 16, 2011, Maestro Jan Latham-Koenig was appointed Chief Conductor of the Novaya Opera. The collaboration of the Novaya Opera and the conductor started in 2008 with the triumphal production of Wagner’s Lohengrin, after which he became the theatre’s permanent guest conductor.

He successfully conducted Nabucco and Rigoletto during the Epiphany Week festivals. Among the other highlights of the Maestro’s work at the Novaya Opera are Britten’s War Requiem and Bach’s Christmas Oratorio, the latter performed jointly with the Popov Academy Choir during the Bach Music Festival.
