| | | | | IT ALL STARTS WITH THE AGREEMENT OF THE PARTIES (28.02.2013). The Novaya Opera’s Director Dmitry Sibirtsev has signed a contract with stage director Yury Alexandrov and conductor Alexandru Samoilă, who will stage a new production of Tchaikovsky’s The Queen of Spades to be premiered in November 2013. On February 25, an audition was held for the leading parts of the opera. Singers from all over the country came to take part. The results will be released in a few days.
Mr. Sibirtsev has also signed a contract with the famous composer Vladimir Martynov who is to write music to a production of The School for Wives. It will be staged at the Novaya Opera in May 2014 by prominent Russian stage director Yury Lyubimov. Mr. Lyubimov has already provided the libretto of the opera. The set designer is Zinovy Margolin and Rustam Khamdamov will act as the costume designer.
