CONCERT FEATURING VENIAMIN SMEKHOV (20.01.2013).

The Symphony Concert on February 27 will star Veniamin Smekhov, a famous cinema and theatre actor, stage director, screenwriter and man of letters. The actor will recite excerpts from Molière's and Gogol's compositions that inspired the music chosen for the concert.
Maestro Jan Latham-Koenig will conduct the orchestra to play the Suite to Strauss’ Le bourgeois gentilhomme based on Molière's play, Janáček’s rhapsody Taras Bulba after Gogol’s novel, Ravel’s Don Quichotte à Dulcinée, three songs for baritone and orchestra after Paul Morand, and Ibert’s Chansons de Don Quichotte for bass and orchestra, written for the film.

Vasily Ladyuk will sing the baritone part and Evgeny Stavinsky will perform the bass part.
