UNIQUE CULTURAL PROJECT (11.11.2016)

On 8 December 2016, artists of the Novaya Opera Theatre performed Gustav Holst’s chamber opera Savitri at the British Ambassador Residence in Moscow, one hundred years after the opera’s London premiere.

Along with the symphonic suite The Planets, the opera Savitri is the composer’s key work.

The project was aimed to emphasize Russia’s and Great Britain’s mutual interest in cultural and artistic heritage and to bring together people united by love of art and by sincere desire to promote bilateral relations.

The performance of the opera was followed by a reception.
