Vladimir Magomadov,

countertenor, studied at the Krasnodar State University of Culture and Arts between 2002 and 2005. In 2005, he entered the Musical Theatre Department (Prof. Nemchinskaya’s class) of the Russian Academy of Dramatic Arts (GITIS), where he studied singing with Tamara Sinyavskaya. In 2010, he successfully graduated and began his post-graduate studies.
 

He made his opera debut in 2008, singing Orpheus in Gluck’s Orpheus and Eurydice at the GITIS training theatre. His current repertoire comprises Prince Radjami in Klaman’s Die Bajadere at the GITIS training theatre, Ratmir in Glinka’s Ruslan and Lyudmila at the Bolshoi Theatre, and Siébel in Gounod’s Faust at the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theatre.

  • Prize-winner of the All-Russia Competition dedicated to the 200th Anniversary of Pushkin’s Birth (2nd Prize, Moscow, 1998)
  • Prize-winner of the Crimea Gem International Competition and Festival (2nd Prize, Kerch, 2000)
  • Grand Prix of the 5th Golden Nightingale All-Russia Competition in the Academic Singing nomination (Gelendzhik, 2004)
  • Boris Pokrovsky Award for the performance of Orpheus in Gluck’s Orpheus and Eurydice and for successful learning of the acting profession (Moscow, 2009)
  • Winner of the Big Opera, on the Russia-K TV–Channel (2013)
