| Svetlana Kasyan, soprano. She graduated from the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory (Galina Pisarenko’s class, 2011) and then polished her singing skills with Dmitry Vdovin and Plácido Domingo (Washington).In 2009–2011, she was a member of the Bolshoi Young Singers Programme. In 2010, she debuted in the Bolshoi Theatre in the part of Kupava (Rimsky-Korsakov’s The Snow Maiden). Later she performed there Fata Morgana (Prokofiev’s The Love for Three Oranges) and Nastasya (Tchaikovsky’s The Enchantress). In 2011, she performed Tosca (Puccini’s Tosca) in the Bolshoi Theatre; later she sang this part in the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre, La Fenice (Venice), Teatro dell' Opera di Roma, Theater St. Gallen (Switzerland) and at the Savonlinna Opera Festival (Finland, 2018). The singer is in high demand abroad. In 2011, she debuted in Beethoven’s Symphony No.9 in Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari, Italy. She also sang in other Italian theatres. She performed the parts of Élisabeth (Verdi’s Don Carlos) and Manon Lescaut (Puccini’s Manon Lescaut), Odabella (Verdi’s Attila) in the Teatro Comunale Luciano Pavarotti. In 2013, she debuted as Cio-Cio-san in Puccini’s Madama Butterfly that was presented as a part of Biennale, an international arts exhibition. In 2015, she performed Cio-Cio-san in Milan. In the same year she debuted as Amelia (Verdi’s Un ballo in maschera). In 2018, she performed two main female parts in Puccini’s trio of operas – Giorgetta in Il tabarro and Angelica in Suor Angelica. Svetlana Kasyan concertizes extensively. In 2012, her recital that closed the Athens Festival gathered more than 5500 listeners at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus theatre (Athens). She performed programmes of chamber music with Semyon Skigin in the International Performing Arts Centre. In November 2013 she gave a recital in the concert hall Auditorium Concilazione in Rome and after it she was favored with an audience with the Pope Francis. In 2014, she gave her debut recitals in Berlin with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. She took part in performing Verdi’s Requiem in the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory. She performed the soprano part in Britten’s The War Requiem in Tallinn (Estonia) and later in the UK. In the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall she sang the part of Natasha (Dargomyzhsky’s Rusalka). In Moscow she also performed the role of Zemfira (Rachmaninoff’s Aleko). In the summer of 2018 she debuted as Liza in Tchaikovsky The Queen of Spades under the baton of Vladimir Jurowski at a festival dedicated to Dmitri Hvorostovsky. She has worked with prominentconductorssuch as Kent Nagano, Gianandrea Noseda, Stefan Anton Reck, Christopher Moulds, Pavel Kogan, Vladimir Fedoseyev, Dmitri Jurowski, Riccardo Frizza, Omer Meir Wellber and Jader Bignamini.
