Sergey Skorokhodov,

guest soloist, tenor. In 1980--1990 he studied at the St. Petersburg Glinka Choral School. In 1998 he was admitted to the St Petersburg State Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire. In 1999 he became a soloist of the Mariinsky Academy of Young Singers. The same year he made his Mariinsky Theatre debut as Guido Bardi (Zemlinsky's Una tragedia fiorentina). In 2004 and 2005 took part in Renata Scotto's Master Classes in Accademia nazionale di Santa Cecilia, Roma. Since 2007 he has been a soloist of the Mariinsky Theatre.

His reperpoire comprises the parts of Bayan (Glinka's Ruslan and Lyudmila), the Pretender (Mussorgsky's Boris Godunov), Lensky (Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin), Nemorino (Donizetti's L'elisir d'amore),
Macduff (Verdi's Macbeth), Lohengrin (Wagner's Lohengrin) to name a few.

Together with the Mariinsky Opera Company he has toured to the Netherlands (Concertgebouw, Amsterdam), France (Opéra National, Paris), the UK (Barbican Hall and Coliseum, London), Sweden (Royal Opera, Stockholm), Finland (Mikkeli Music Festival) and Israel (Red Sea Festival, Eilat). In the 2009–2010 season Sergei Skorokhodov made his debut at the Metropolitan Opera as Ivan (Shostakovich's The Nose).
