| Nikolay Simonov, Guest Designer, graduated from the Grekov Art College in Rostov in 1985. In 1987, he became the art director of the Vologda Region Youth Theatre and, later, of the Gorky Academic Drama Theatre in Krasnodar. Between 1990 and 2002, he was the art director of the Rostov Region Academic Youth Theatre where he designed over 60 productions. Since 2002, he has been living and working in Moscow. Here he has designed over 40 productions including Plasticine and I.O. for the Drama and Direction Centre; Explicit Polaroid Pictures for the Pushkin Drama Theatre of Moscow; Sweet Bird of Youth, A Naked Pioneer Girl, Anthony&Cleopatra. A Version, and Hare. LOVE STORY for the Sovremennik Theatre; Terrorism, The Petty Bourgeois, Playing the Victim, The Forest, The Golovlyov Family, The Pillowman, The Threepenny Opera, Leading Ladies, The Master and Margarita, Circle Mirror Transformation, The Double Bass, A Streetcar Named Desire and 19.14 for the Chekhov Art Theatre of Moscow; Sunday. Super and The School for Wives for Oleg Tabakov’s Theatre; Falstaff for the Mariinsky Theatre; Orpheus and Eurydice for the Drugoi Theatre; Tartuffe and Quasi City for the Drama Theatre in Malaya Bronnaya; The Flying Dutchman for the Mikhailovsky Theatre; Invitation to a Beheading and Lada or Joy for the Russian Academic Youth Theatre, Figaro. The Course of One Day for the Evgeny Mironov Theatre Company; Joan of Arc at the Stake for the Vladimir Spivakov Invites festival; The Return of Persephone for the Cherry Forest festival; Mysterion, Station and Goddesses from the Car for the Territory festival.
