Jan Meier,

Guest Designer, was born in Lübeck, Germany. He studied furriery and design. Jan Meier did his first projects in theatres of Lübeck, Freiburg, Basel and Cologne.

Since 2001 he has been a costume designer and since 2003, a scene designer. He works with the Linz Theatre, Freiburg Theatre, Youth Theatre in Vienna, St. Gallen Theatre, Opera House in Dortmund, the Düsseldorf Drama Theatre and the Klagenfurt Theatre.

Since 2008 he has been the head of the wardrobe and make-up department at the Ruhtriennale music festival.

Jan Meier designed sets and costumes for the production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream at the Salzburg Festival in 2013. In the same year he joined the State Theatre at Gärtnerplatz in Munich.

Jan Meier began his collaboration with Aleksey Veiro in 2010 during their co-work at the VladOpera project in Vladivostok. Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro will be Jan Meier’s debut at the Novaya Opera.
