Hans Fründt,

Lighting Designer. Lighting designer Hans Fründt from Berlin completed his studies as a technical engineer for theatres and cultural events in 2008. At the same time he completed a master course in “technologies and event management”.
Since 2004 he has worked for the Deutsche Oper Berlin and the Komische Oper Berlin, the Royal Opera House in London, the Vienna Burgtheater and the Berlin People’s Theatre (Volksbühne). Currently he collaborates with Sasha Waltz & Guests, Ruhrtriennale festival and Berliner Festspiele theatre. He also works for the Foreign Affairs and Theatre Meetings festivals. In 2012 he participated in the Fomenko Workshop tour in Berlin with Chekhov’s Three Sisters.

His main activity as a lighting designer is modern dance theatre. Jointly with choreographer and dancer Shang-Chi Sun he has worked in Berlin, Potsdam, Paris, Bruges, Lyon, Barcelona, Hong Kong, Beijing, Singapore, Rio de Janeiro and Taipei. In January 2015 he has a tour scheduled in the USA.
Since 2009 Hans Fründt has worked on a regular basis in the Far East. He started his collaboration with Russia stage director Aleksey Veiro when they did Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte in the Primorsky Krai.
