Artyom Krutko,

countertenor. Graduated from the Chelyabinsk State Academy of Arts and Culture in 2007 (Prof. Borovik’s class). In 2011, he studied with the famous French tenor Jean-Paul Fouchecourt at the studio of the Lion National Opera (France).

In 2004, Artyom became a trainee singer at the Glinka Opera and Ballet Theatre in Chelyabinsk, where he made his debut performing the part of Cherubino in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro. In 2005, he was appointed a soloist of the theatre. Since 2008, Artyom has collaborated with the Mariinski Opera and Ballet Theatre in St. Petersburg, and since 2013, with the Heidelberg Theatre and Orchestra (Germany). In 2015, he became a soloist of the Novaya Opera.

Artyom appeared on the stages of many theatres in Russia and abroad, including the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Music Theatre, the Mariinski Theatre, the Mikhailovski Theatre (St. Petersburg), the Yekaterinburg Opera and Ballet Theatre, the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre, the Chuvashia Opera and Ballet Theatre (Cheboksary), the Musa Jalil Tatar Opera and Ballet Theatre (Kazan), the Bashkortostan Opera and Ballet Theatre (Ufa), the Bonn Opera Theatre (Germany), Schlosstheater Schwetzingen (Germany), Badisches Staatstheater (Karlsruhe, Germany).

The singer has toured in Russian cities (Moscow, St. Petersburg, Arkhangelsk, Astrakhan, Vologda, Dubna, Yekaterinburg, Kazan, Krasnoyarsk, Kurgan, Magnitogorsk, Oktyabrsky, Samara, Ufa, Cheboksary, Chelyabinsk) and abroad – in Belarus, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Netherlands. He has collaborated with many prominent conductors such as Adik Abdurakhmanov, Vladislav Belinsky, Victor Bokman, Valery Gergiev, Eduard Grach, Anton Grishanin, Christian Kabitz, Roman Kaloshin, Wolfgang Katschner, Giancarlo de Lorenzo, Azat Maksutov, Fabio Mastrangelo, Olga Nesterova, Mikhail Sinkevich, Pavel Smelkov, Sergey Ferulyov, Anton Sharoev and Andreas Schpering. He has also worked with the organists Vladimir Khomyakov, Taras Bagints, Vladislav Murtazin, Konstantin Volostnov and Lyudmila Kamelina.

He has sung the parts of Milovzor (Tchaikovsky’s The Queen of Spades), Lel (Rimsky-Korsakov’s The Snow Maiden), Fyodor (Mussorgsky’s Boris Godunov), Ratmir (Glinka’s Ruslan and Lyudmila), Vanya (Glinka’s A Life for the Tzar), Alkid (Bornyansky’s Alkid), Oberon (Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream), Voice of Christ (Smelkov’s Brothers Karamazov), Orest (Traetta’s Ifigenia in Tauride), Eustazio (Handel’s Rinaldo), Hamor (Handel’s Jephtha), Cherubino (Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro), Prince Orlovsky (Strauss’ Die Fildermaus), and a number of parts in children’s operas by Minkov, Shkerbina, Podgaits and Spadavecchia. Also he has performed solo alto cantatas by Vivaldi (Cessate, omai cessate, Stabat Mater) and by Bach (Geist und Seele wird verwirret BWV 35), the alto parts in Handel’s Messiah, Pergolisi’s cantata Stabat Mater and Mozart’s Requiem, and the tenor part in Bach’s Schweigt stille, plaudert nicht.
