Guest Stage Director
She graduated from the Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet in 1978 (Natalya Dudinskay’s class) and from the GITIS’ Directing Department in 1983 and completed her post graduate studies in 1985.

Between 1987 and 1989, she was a choreographer of the Satirikon theatre, where she worked on Genet’s The Maids and Durrenmatt’s Hercules and the Augean Stables.

In 1989–2000, she directed “Alla Sigalova’s Independent Dance Company”. She has choreographed the following productions: Kosterin’s A Diary of an Ordinary Girl and Dashkevich and Kim’s Bedbug for the Mayakovsky Theatre, Aksyonov’s Overstocked Packaging Barrels, Dashkevich and Kim’s Bumbarash Passion for Oleg Tabakov’s Theatre, Mrozek’s Banana for the Mossovet Theatre, Gombrowicz’s Yvonne, the Princess of Burgundy for the Lower Saxony Theatre, Mrozek’s Tango in Nurnberg, Germany, Labiche’s Money-Box in Liege, Belgium, Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker at the Yekaterinburg Municipal Ballet, Piazzolla’s Duets and Yellow Tango, Bolero in the Latvian National Opera, Slonimsky’s Visions of Ivan the Terrible at the Samara Opera and Ballet Theatre, Desyatnikov’s Sketches to the Sunset in the co-project of the Lithuanian Opera and Ballet Theatre, Latvian National Opera and the Moscow Association of Musicians, Weill and Brecht’s Seven Deadly Sins at the Lithuanian Opera and Ballet Theatre, Dreams of Love for the Estrada Theatre, Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, and Djan after the Platonov story in the Pushkin Theatre.

Alla Sigalova has directed two productions for the Pushkin Theatre: Nights of Cabiria and Madame Bovary after the Flaubert story. She has staged Russian Seasons ballet to the music by Desyatnikov at the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theatre.

She is a professor at the Russian Academy of Theatre Arts where she teaches stage dance. Since 2004 she has been a professor and Head of the Chair of Choreography at the Moscow Arts Theatre School.

In 2008 Alla Sigalova was awarded a Golden Mask for “fruitful synthesis of drama theatre and choreography”.
