Alexander Popov,

baritone, studied choral conducting in the Tchaikovsky Higher School of Music in Chelyabinsk between 1997 and 2001 (Makedon’s class). He graduated from the Mussorgsky Urals State Conservatory in 2007 (Prof. Davydova’s class) and the Moscow Academy of Choral Art in 2013 (Prof. Vdovin’s class).

For several years he worked as an extra in the Glinka Opera and Ballet Theatre of Chelyabinsk, as a chorus member in the Sverdlovsk State Academic Theatre of Musical Comedy (2002) and in the Yekaterinburg State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre (2002–2007).

The singer joined the Novaya Opera in 2008 as a chorus member and in 2013 he became a soloist.
