Alexey Prokopiev,

bass. He graduated from the Singing Art Department of the International Slavic Institute in 2012 (Olga Zakharova’s class) and studied at the Galina Vishnevskaya Opera Centre (2012–2014).

During his studies he was a trainee at the Prokofiev Opera Studio Theatre (2008–2012). In 2013–2018 he was a soloist at the Pokrovsky Chamber Music Theater. In 2016–2017 he was a guest soloist of the State Academic Symphony Capella of Russia. Since 2018 he has been a soloist of the Bolshoi Theatre and since September 2018, a soloist of the Kolobov Novaya Opera Theatre.

Alexey Prokopiev’s repertoire includes the parts of Don Geronio (Rossini’s Il turco in Italia); Leporello and Masetto (Mozart’s Don Giovanni); Buff (Mozart’s Der Schauspieldirektor); Cancion (Wolf-Ferrari’s I quarto rusteghi); Harašta (Janáček’s The Cunning Little Vixen); Count Ceprano (Verdi’s Rigoletto); Farlaf (Glinka’s Ruslan and Lyudmila); Varlaam, Mityukha (Mussorgsky’s Boris Godunov); the Gypsy (Mussorgsky’s The Fair at Sorochyntsi); Devil from Hell, Chub Old and Cossack (Tchaikovsky’s Cherevichki); Zaretsky, Company Commander (Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin); Helvidius, Hispo, Centurión (Rimsky-Korsakov’s Servilia); Notary (Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi); Matveyev (Prokofiev’s War and Peace).
